La alcaldesa de Teror, Isabel Guerra, mantuvo este jueves una reunión con César Martín, Director general de Agricultura del Gobierno de Canarias, con el objetivo de buscar fuentes de financiación para el desarrollo de varios proyectos en el municipio. César Martín reconoció la falta de oportunidades para los jóvenes en las áreas rurales, así como la necesidad de formación e inversión en el sector para dignificar más la agricultura.
El director general de Agricultura informó de la existencia de líneas de financiación a la cotitularidad de las explotaciones agrarias para que las mujeres que se dedican a la agricultura sean reconocidas como agentes económicos, se les de visibilidad y se reconozca la ingente labor que desarrollan dentro del mundo rural.
A la reunión también asistió el concejal de medio ambiente y aguas del Ayuntamiento de Teror, José Juan Navarro, quien manifestó el grave problema y la falta de infraestructuras en materia de agua de abasto para la población, para lo que propone la construcción de un embalse para el municipio que permita llevar el agua a las viviendas diariamente.
