La Consejería de Sector Primario y Soberanía Alimentaria del Cabildo de Gran Canaria ha culminado las obras de acondicionamiento del camino de Gamonal Alto, solicitada por el Ayuntamiento de Santa Brígida para mejorar el estado del camino agrícola existente. La ejecución del acondicionamiento de esta pista permite su utilización más eficiente y con una mayor seguridad vial, incluso su mejor conservación frente a las inclemencias del tiempo.
La actuación ha permitido realizar las obras necesarias para el acondicionamiento del firme de un camino agrícola, infraestructura ya existente, en la zona denominada El Gamonal Alto del municipio de Santa Brígida, con el fin de facilitar el acceso a las diferentes parcelas de cultivo existentes.
Con la ejecución de esta obra que había sido muy demandada por los vecinos de la zona y por el propio Ayuntamiento, se benefician aproximadamente unas 10 Ha de cultivos agrícolas, hortícolas y frutales de mercado interior, donde se localizan unas diez fincas agrícolas que tenían problemas para poder transportar sus productos.
Se han construido 660 metros lineales de losa de hormigón con un ancho medio de 3,00 a 3,20 metros. Asimismo, se ha procedido a mejorar la protección de la vía con la demolición y reconstrucción de un muro de mampostería preexistente de 15 m y se ha instalado una valla vial de seguridad a lo largo de 84 m. Además, se ha instalado una barrera de seguridad vial metálica doble onda pintada para que no impacte en el paisaje. También se ha realizado trabajo de desbroce y limpieza de terrenos e instalado arquetas y rejillas de saneamiento y señales verticales de tráfico.
Esta actuación ha sido financiada por la Consejería de Sector Primario y Soberanía Alimentaria del Cabildo de Gran Canaria, por un importe de 63.050,71 euros.
