En la noche de este sábado se produjo un incendio en la zona del Barranco de El Juncal, en el municipio grancanario de Tejeda.
El fuego se originó en horas próximas a la medianoche, cuando se recibió la alerta en el Centro de Coordinación Operativa Insular de Gran Canaria (CECOPIN).
Hasta el lugar de los hechos se trasladaron más de una veintena de efectivos del operativo contraincendios del Cabildo de Gran Canaria. Dos unidades bravo, una unidad presa, tres bomberos del Consorcio y personal de apoyo trabajaron durante la noche para acabar con el fuego, que se dio por extinguido a las 6:00 de la mañana.
Agentes de la Brigada de Investigación de Incendios Forestales del Cabildo de Gran se encuentran en el lugar para recoger pruebas e investigar las causas, aunque dados los indicios no descartan que haya podido ser intencionado.
