Feria de Patchwork 2016 Foto Laura Miranda20La Vega de San Mateo acogió este fin de semana la celebración de la cuarta edición de la Feria Regional de Patchwork, una cita que se saldó con un rotundo éxito de asistencia y ventas.

Desde la jornada del sábado las largas colas de coches para acceder a San Mateo daban buena cuenta de la gran afluencia de visitantes, que las autoridades han cifrado en 40.000 personas. En la jornada del domingo el tráfico llegó a ralentizarse ya en la Rotonda de Bandama en dirección a San Mateo, lo que supuso que muchos visitantes tuvieran que esperar horas para disfrutar de la feria.Afluencia visitantes feria de patchwork San Mateo 2016

Una treintena de stands, más de veinte talleres y una gran exposición formaron parte de esta nueva edición de la Feria, que tras cuatro años de continuos éxitos de ventas y participación, en 2.017 pretende alcanzar el carácter de nacional. Así lo adelantó el alcalde del municipio, Antonio Ortega, durante el acto de inauguración de la feria. En este sentido el primer edil señaló que el ayuntamiento aumentará el próximo año la partida económica destinada al evento, a la vez que solicitará al Cabildo Insular una mayor financiación con el objetivo de que la feria continúe creciendo.
