21 equipos llevaron el nombre de Vega de San Mateo por las carreteras de Canarias en 2016

Tinamar Automóvil Club cierra ya su primer año de actuación como la primera escudería automovilística deportiva del municipio de Vega de San Mateo. Los comienzos siempre han sido difíciles, y con este club no ha sido excepción. A pesar de ello hay que agradecer a todas las personas, empresas e instituciones que han creído en este proyecto y trabajaron o trabajan para que el mismo salga adelante. Aunque esperamos abrir la inscripción de socios el próximo 2017, este primer año el club decidió valorizar la actuación de los equipos automovilísticos del municipio, siguiendo su trayectoria durante toda la temporada.

Si comenzamos por el certamen autonómico de rallies de asfalto, cabe destacar al piloto veguero Oliver Nieves, quién representó al municipio por las 4 islas del archipiélago por donde se desarrolla el campeonato. Este piloto fue escogido para liderar el nuevo proyecto del Opel Adam Cup de Orteauto Sport con el objetivo de ganar la Clase 3. Tras el resultado obtenido en el pasado Rally Isla de Lanzarote, han logrado su objetivo.

Sin duda hay que destacar el papel desempeñado en esta temporada por Leonardo Perera. Ha sido piloto en el Trofeo 50 de las pruebas celebradas en Gran Canaria, pero también ha sido copiloto en esta modalidad y en la media alta de la Regularidad Sport, copiloto en las pruebas de la Copa Clásica Gran Canaria y también, en el Campeonato de Clásicas de Canarias. Sin duda, es el participante veguero con mayor número de pruebas acumuladas. De esta manera el desenlace de su temporada ha sido espectacular, quedando 3º de pilotos en el Trofeo 50 de la Regularidad Sport, en el 3º puesto de navegantes y 1º de biciclómetros del campeonato regional de clásicas, 2º en el grupo de biciclómetros en Gran Canaria y, además, 2º clasificados absolutos y 1º en el grupo de biciclómetros en el provincial de clásicas de Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Pero los títulos recogidos por pilotos de San Mateo no acaban aquí. Porque en el caso de Roberto García también ha sido un año redondo. El piloto procedente del barrio de Ariñez realizó una temporada estupenda con la victoria en 4 pruebas de la Copa Clásica Gran Canaria, lo que le valía para hacerse con el título de campeón del certamen. Además, y en su primer año en esta modalidad, con la compañía de su hija Tania como copilota, se hicieron con la victoria en la Copa de Regularidad Sport de Las Palmas.

Otro de los equipos premiados  ha sido el conformado por los vegueros, Ignacio Guerra y Sergio Monzón. Realizaron todas las pruebas del Campeonato de Regularidad Sport en Gran Canaria. Su objetivo siempre ha sido el de acabar las pruebas, y a excepción del Gran Canaria Historic Rally donde abandonaron por rotura mecánica, acabaron todas y se han visto recompensados con el tercer cajón del pódium en la modalidad de Media Alta.

Alexis Manzano es de los pilotos más conocidos del municipio por su espectacularidad en su estilo de conducción. Este año, realizó el Campeonato de Regularidad Sport en los certámenes de rallies y montaña. No tuvo mucha suerte en el primero, pero sí que consiguió domar el recién adquirido BMW 628 CSi en las subidas, lo que le hizo acabar 2º del Campeonato RS en el provincial de montaña de Las Palmas.

La copilota María Hernández también ha entrado en la lista de vegueros galardonados este año. Participó en todas las pruebas puntuables en el Trofeo micraa1Nissan Micra Fan Motor y, aun con la adaptación al nuevo coche, algunos problemas en varios rallies y el contratiempo del accidente en el Rally Sprint de Artenara, lograron hacerse con la victoria en el Trofeo este año.

Tato Suárez disputó los Campeonatos Provinciales de rallies y de montaña de Las Palmas. Con el fin de revalidar el grupo de vehículos históricos, salió en todas las pruebas de Gran Canaria, a excepción de algunas cuando sufrió una lesión en su brazo, lo que le obligó a guardar reposo, perdiendo así la oportunidad de participar en algunas pruebas. A pesar de ello, el piloto de San Mateo se proclama campeón del Grupo H y de la clase 2 en el Campeonato Provincial de Montaña, quedando 4º de la clasificación general del mismo.

Olegario Reyes ha sido otro de los pilotos que representó a la Vega de San Mateo en esta temporada. Estrenaba a un nuevo copiloto y sufrió varios problemas mecánicos en varias pruebas. Aun así el objetivo siempre es divertirse. Quedó 4º clasificado en el Campeonato de Regularidad Sport, del provincial de Las Palmas.

No fue el mejor año para el equipo veguero conformado por Ángel Marrero y Víctor Marrero. Los hermanos de Ariñez salían a revalidar el título de campeones provinciales pero la mala fortuna estuvo de su lado este año. Aunque ellos ven el lado positivo y es que, después de 25 participaciones con el Honda Civic Type R, sólo han abandonado en 3. Y además, este año ha servido para que los reglajes estén al 100% de adaptación con el estilo de conducción de Ángel. Cabe ahora actualizar el motor del vehículo para que la próxima temporada se afronte con más suerte y con mejores resultados.

Andrés Miranda volvió a la competición después de algunos años inactivo y lo hizo con el estreno de un nuevo vehículo. El Hyundai Getz proveniente de tierras peninsulares, no quiso arrancar en la subida de Arucas, pero si lo hizo en las últimos dos carreras del Campeonato de Canarias de Velocidad en Circuitos. Este año ha sido una nueva experiencia, cargada de sorpresas por la conducción del nuevo vehículo y que esperamos ver en más pruebas el próximo año.

Pedro Alvarado comenzó esta temporada con el objetivo de realizar la Copa Clásica de Gran Canaria. Con su hija María Alvarado como copilota,
realizaron algunas pruebas y hasta llegaron a estar al frente en varias ocasiones. Pero también, al programa deportivo se le sumó la participación del Seat 127 en el Trofeo 50 de la Regularidad Sport. Creada ya esta experiencia, esperamos ver este equipo luchando por este certamen el próximo año.

Ulises Santana, con Patricia Marrero a su derecha, fueron uno de los equipos de San Mateo que se estrenaron en la competición esta temporada. Con la adquisición del vehículo clásico, se sumaron a la competición con la participación en 3 clásicas. Con el único objetivo de aprender, la experiencia fue tal que hasta llegaron a vencer en alguna ocasión el Grupo de Debutantes. Un comienzo fuerte que pone a este equipo en el punto de mira del resto de competidores, pues seguro darán que hablar la próxima temporada.

Todos conocemos a Teodoro Vega por su labor en los medios de comunicación. Este año también se sumó a la competición con la participación en una prueba clásica. El veguero, con su mujer a la derecha, demostró estar en buena forma con la victoria en el grupo “sin aparatos”.

Benedicto Domínguez y Jacinto Pérez lo tuvieron difícil para volver a la competición esta temporada, pues se encontraban en una reforma general del Volkswagen Golf GTI. Consiguieron salir en dos pruebas, los Rallies Isla de Gran Canaria y Villa de Teror y, aunque el único objetivo fue el de acabar  y divertirse, los resultados llegaron con tiempos espectaculares como ya este equipo nos tiene acostumbrados.

Jorge Suárez fue otro de los pilotos que representó al municipio esta temporada. Una vez más, dentro del Trofeo de Promoción en el Campeonato de Rallies de Las Palmas. Les perjudicó el abandono en el Rally de Santa Brígida, pero consiguieron acabar en el Gran Canaria y Teror. A falta del Rally Isla de Lanzarte, cierran el Top Ten de la Clasificación del Trofeo BP Ultimate de Promoción.

Tampoco fue una gran temporada para Iván Sosa. Las constantes averías en el Seat 124 no dejan disfrutar mucho a este equipo y por ese motivo, decidieron parar y reajustar toda la mecánica del vehículo. De ahí que hayan participado en tan pocas pruebas. En Teror lo intentaron pero tampoco les fue posible. A pesar de no haber sido una gran temporada, seguro que el piloto no olvidará las dos pasadas por el “tramo de casa”: la subida de Las Lagunetas.

Gerardo Hernández participó en pocas pruebas este año, pero sólo en ver aquel Mitsubishi Starion en las carreteras podemos apreciar una familia arraigada al mundo del motor, especialmente porque como copilotos lleva a su esposa, Rosa Marrero o su hijo Javier Hernández. La experiencia en el Campeonato de Clásicas este año ha sido buena y es uno de los equipos que, muy probablemente, repetirán el próximo año.

1tacOtro equipo que salió a la carretera esta temporada es el conformado por Alexis Hernández y Jordán Gutierrez. Los del barrio de La Solana probaron suerte en varias pruebas de la Copa Clásica de Gran Canaria. Aunque este año ha sido para aprender, esperamos verlos para el próximo luchando por el Grupo de Debutantes de esta modalidad.

Andrés Martel sólo realizó el Rally Sprint de Artenara durante esta temporada y desgraciadamente, una avería mecánica le obligo a tomar el camino del abandono.Deseamos que el próximo año pueda realizar un programa deportivo más continuo.

Roberto Naranjo también fue uno de los pilotos que sólo realizó una prueba en el campeonato de clásicas. En su caso fue determinante para la experiencia con su nuevo vehículo, el Seat 1430.

Acostumbrábamos a ver en más pruebas al copiloto Alberto Viera. Sin embargo, este año sólo participó en el Rally Villa de Santa Brígida. Acabó muy bien posicionado cerrando el Top Ten de la prueba.

Sirva este balance general como homenaje del club TAC para todos los pilotos y copilotos procedentes de este municipio, deseándoles unas Felices Fiestas y ¡NOS VEREMOS LA PRÓXIMA TEMPORADA!
