Este sábado 29 y domingo 30 de abril, a partir de las 16:00 y 10:00 horas respectivamente, se pondrá en marcha el Campeonato Insular Infantil Clasificatorio para el Campeonato de Canarias en Edad Escolar que organiza la Dirección General de Deportes. El torneo, suizo con ritmo de juego de 40 minutos más cinco segundos por jugada, se disputará en el Local social de San Mateo.
Los/as tres primeros/as clasificados/as disputarán el Campeonato de Canarias, que tendrá lugar en Tenerife entre el 26 al 28 de mayo. El patrocinio corresponde al Instituto Insular de Deportes de Gran Canaria, organización de la Federación Insular de Ajedrez de Gran Canaria, y del Club de Ajedrez Panadería Pulido San Mateo, colaboración del Ayuntamiento de San Mateo, y arbitraje del nacional Alexis Alonso Valiente.
