La charla será impartida por expertos en culebra real californiana con el objetivo de informar sobre la expansión de esta culebra, que aunque no es venenosa sí es muy perjudicial para el mantenimiento de nuestras especies endémicas.
En los últimos meses han aparecido varios ejemplares de esta culebra en la zona de Medianías. Por tal motivo, expertos en el control de esta especie invasora informarán a los vecinos de La Vega sobre qué hacer si se encuentran una de estas culebras.
El año pasado se capturaron en Gran Canaria más de 300 especies, y este año el número puede ser mayor debido a las altas temperaturas.
